Whether you're studying as part of a formal course

a number of useful online resources, some of which can only be
viewed by library visitors. Members can also access some websites
from home.

which you will find useful whether you're interested in local

Encyclopedia Britannica: Visitors to both
our libraries can visit any of these sites, each with content
aimed at particular age groups. Library members can also visit
them from home by entering their membership number when prompted.

Know UK and News UK: Know UK is the ultimate
online library of UK information, with access to over 100 reference
publications. News UK combines the most popular british newspaper
titles to provide definitive UK news online, including the Press
& Journal and Aberdeen Evening Express. Library
visitors should click on either logo for access while members
can visit the websites from home by using the alternative link.

Read Mòr: Created as part of Scotland's
Reader Development Network programme, this site lets you choose
a book by style or mood, and then share your impressions with
other readers if you wish.

Scottish Cultural Resources Access Network:
The Scran learning resource base has over 360,000 images, movies
and sounds from museums, galleries, archives and the media. Thumbnails
can be viewed from home while full access can be obtained by visiting
a library.
