Out of hours book return at Orkney Liubrary & Archive An out of hours book return unit is now available at the side of the entrance to the main building, which will enable borrowers to return books during times that the library is closed. Books should be returned at the issue desk as normal during normal opening hours.

 

Late Opening:

Orkney Library & Archive will not open until 10.00am on Friday 3 September 2010. This is due to a staff meeting and we apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

 

New titles for July 2010:

Click here for a list of new titles available to borrow from July 2010, including adult fiction and non-fiction, children's and teenagers titles, audio books, CDs and DVDs (96KB, Adobe Reader required).

 

Introducing Bookbug:

Bookbug is the new name for Scottish Book Trust’s Early Years Programme for children aged birth to four and their families (formerly known as Bookstart). More information on how it works locally can be found here.

 

Free WiFi available:

WiFi access is now available in both Orkney Library & Archive and Stromness Branch Library with hotspots available in various parts of the main building. Please ask a member of staff for more information and a password if you would like to use this service.

 

Access to online catalogue:
The library catalogue is now online and can be accessed from the link above. Please note that library members will have to use their PIN to access their membership account when renewing loans etc. If you are a library internet user you will already know your PIN but if not please contact us to find out.
