At Orkney Library & Archive we will be hosting a number of special Book Week Scotland events.20 November 2019National Mobile Libraries Day - KirkwallThis Book Week Scotland we are celebrating Mobile Library Services across the country so on Wednesday our Mobile Library will be parked on Broad Street next to St Magnus Cathedral on Wednesday afternoon for people to go aboard and see what the Mobile Library has to offer. 21 November 2019Sue Lawrence - KirkwallScottish author and food writer Sue Lawrence will be returning to Orkney Library & Archive to discuss her latest novel Down To The Sea. This event will be held in the Reference Room at 2pm and is a FREE event but spaces are limited to get in touch to book your place.21 November 2019A Taste of Scotland’s Islands - KirkwallCome along to the MacGillivray Room at 7pm for an evening of talking and tasting with Sue Lawrence and Rosemary Moon and hear about Sue’s latest cookery book full of recipes from the Scottish Islands. Tickets for this event are £3 each and spaces are limited to get in touch to book your place.23 November 2019Les Cowan - KirkwallLocal author Les Cowan returns to Orkney Library & Archive to launch his latest novel Sins of the Fathers, the third book in his David Hidalgo crime series. This FREE event is in the MacGillivray Room at 11am and everyone is welcome to come along. Booking is not required.
